I want to surround myself with living memories.  When I put a photo in an album and it sits on a shelf forever, I don't think about it, and the memory dies.  When I frame a painting of someone I know or a place where I've been, hang the painting on a wall I pass every day, I can relive that moment in time with that person or place, keeping my history in my present.

I carried the African-theme from the TV room into the adjacent powder room. Painting the wall mural was a cinch. Getting the elephants to pose was a little tricky!
